Fostering a culture of diversity toward a truly global company The LIXIL Group, which has its sight set on achieving the monumental goal of 3 trillion yen in sales in FY2016, plans to earn one third of its sales by expanding its overseas businesses. In order to achieve success overseas and develop into a global company that is revered around the world, we, at the LIXIL Group, intend to foster a culture of diversity.

On December 6th, 2011, LIXIL welcomed the Permasteelisa Group, as a new member to the Group. This represented a historical event for LIXIL as it took its first step toward global development. Permasteelisa, with 120 billion yen of global revenue and 27 branches across the globe, is a global company that leads the world in curtain walls (aluminum exterior wall materials for high-rise buildings). Through the many opportunities that will be afforded by this union, we intend to approach our new partner, engage in an exchange of opinions and aim to "develop into a global company that will be revered around the world."

However, merely increasing overseas sales will not be good enough to make a global company. In order to become a global company, we will need to transform our own culture.

A global society is a culture based on diversity. In other words, it comprises nationalities, religions, languages, lifestyles, foods, ways of thinking, behavior and beliefs that are different from ours. I believe that a truly global culture mutually understands and respects such differences, and harnesses the strong energy born of such "diversity" and turns it into creativity.

The culture of the LIXIL Group is also a culture of diversity.
Through integration based on mutual respect and inspiration, each one of our Group companies, including our overseas companies, is attempting to transform itself and create a new culture for the 21st century that does not conform to anything that existed before. As we aim to become a truly world-class company, we, at the LIXIL Group, are intent to foster a culture of diversity.
