Policy Concerning the Protection of Personal Information

JS Group Corporation (hereafter referred to as “the CompanyE protects personal information based on the following policy regarding the appropriate handling and protection of personal information as one of its major social responsibility. Group companies of the JS Group (hereafter referred to as “the group companiesE also regard appropriate handling and protection of personal information as one of their major social responsibility. Therefore, by the creation of policy concerning the protection of personal information, each company follows the rules for the appropriate handling and protection of personal information.


1. Acquisition of Personal Information

  1. The Company will obtain personal information by appropriate and fair means.
  2. The Company will disclose or inform the specific purpose of use as much as possible, when obtaining personal information. However, at times when the purpose of use is clear from the situation of the collection, the Company may obtain personal information without informing the purpose of its use.

2. Use of Personal Information

  1. The Company will limit the use of personal information within the range of purpose of use already informed or disclosed. However, at times when the purpose of use is clear from the situation of the collection, the Company may use the personal information within the purpose of use without informing or disclosing.
  2. At times when the Company outsources handling of personal information, the Company will investigate and select the contractors strictly as well as to execute necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractors in order to securely manage personal information.
  3. The Company will use the personal information of shareholders under following purposes.
    1. For the purpose of executing rights and fulfilling obligations pursuant to the Commercial Code.
    2. For the purpose of offering various services to shareholders from the standpoint of an issuing company.
    3. For the purpose of executing policies to facilitate good relations between the shareholders and the Company, especially from the standpoint of relationships between the organization and members of the organization.
    4. For the purpose of shareholder management, such as development of shareholder data based on standards specified in various laws and regulations.
  4. The Company will not use the personal information other than the purpose already notified without informing in advance or without the advance consent of the person.

3. Provision to Third Parties and Shared Use

  1. The Company will not provide personal information to any third party or group company without advance consent of the individual except for the following circumstances.
    1. When required by laws and regulations.
    2. When required for the protection of human life, health, or property and when the consent of the individual in question is difficult to obtain.
    3. When required for improvements of public health or promotion of sound development of children and when the consent of the individual in question is difficult to obtain.
    4. When required to cooperate with the lawful activities of a government organization, local government entity or party designated by those for the execution of their affairs and obtaining the consent of the individual in question would interfere, or be likely to interfere, with the carrying out of such activities.
  2. The Company will disclose or inform the individual when it provides personal information to any third party or group company.

4. Accuracy of Personal Information

The Company will strive to maintain the personal information accurate and up-to-date within the range to achieve the purpose of its use.


5. Security Management

  1. The Company will implement information security measures and other measures that are appropriate and rational to prevent unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of personal information.
  2. The Company will educate its board members and employees concerning handling of personal information and strive to manage appropriate use of personal information.


6. Compliance with Laws and Regulations and Changes in the Policy

The Company will comply faithfully with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. In addition, the Company will strive continuously to improve the contents of the Policy at times when applicable laws and regulations are revised.
